Attract More Traffic to Your WordPress Blog Using PinterestWith the increase in the technology people have become more advanced and as such bloggers have always had to deal with the issue in ensuring that their blogs are more appealing to the readers so as to ensure that they stay relevant and that they do contain the interest of the public. Technology has seen to the introduction of social media, platforms that are used by billions of people all over the world. These include Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Pinterest among many others. To ensure that your blog attracts as many people as possible, it is therefore useful to ensure that it is friendly to social media as it is the easiest way of sharing and getting more people to check out the blog.

What exactly is Pinterest

Pinterest describes itself as a tool that makes it easy for people to collect, to organize and to share the things that they love. Pinterest works in quite a simple way and as such it is not difficult to use. To use it, you simply pin the images that you like to virtual bulletin boards, almost the same way as you would pin magazine cuttings and even photos to a bulletin board in real life. That is all you have to so then your followers and the people you follow will all be able to see your photos and images.

Importance of Pinterest to a blogger

Pinterest is very important to a blogger. First, it increases the traffic to your blog. And what is more important to a blogger than traffic? You want as many people as possible to see your blog right? While most people only make their blogs public in Facebook, twitter and such media which they believe to be used by majority of people, it is not wise to ignore Pinterest as it is one of the few sites in which you actually share your images with like-minded individuals.

Pinterest also has been shown to greatly increase the life of a blog post. If a like-minded reader gets to see your images and goes through them including the old posts, he or she may pin some or even all of them thus more people read the posts and also pin them. as such your blog is destined to have a longer life then if you ignored Pinterest.

Ingredients of a Pinterest-friendly blog

The first important thing in any blog that is to be pinned is an attractive image. People love images; they enable us to have a better interpretation of any situation. As such it is very important to ensure that whatever the post we write, it has to have images. These attractive images will ensure more people see the photos and as such more people read the blog posts. Another thing is the texts that are to be associated with the images. Images are interpreted by different people in completely different ways. It is important therefore to ensure that the image is accompanied by messages. These not only remind you why you pinned the image but also ensure that your followers interpret the images in the correct way.

To make using Pinterest easy for you it is important to ensure that the photos used I the blog are ready to be pinned. This simply means that at least one of the photos in the post has to have texts on it. Such that when your followers click on the picture, they will be linked back to the blog site. It will also remind people who re- pin your images why they re- pinned them in the first place. These images with texts are known as Pinterest optimized images and are more likely to be repined severally.

How to make your blog Pinterest-friendly

Making a blog pinterest friendly is not such a difficult task. First, add a pin button to the images. This ensures that your readers who are active in Pinterest do not miss the chance to pin your images.

Ensure that your image has texts. These texts should ideally describe the post. As stated earlier this will ensure that your followers and even you do not forget why you pinned an image in the first place.

Ensure that you have a Pinterest follow button in your blog so that your readers can follow you.

Using Pinterest in WordPress

Ensure that your domain is verified on Pinterest. This is done by verifying your website and shows your domain as verified.

Another tool for Pinterest in WordPress is setting up rich pins. These pins make the posts look even more attractive. These allow readers to know what the post is about even before they read through the post.

Pinterest Widget Builder is another tool commonly used. This enables you to build widgets and helps you create pin- it buttons. These buttons appear when you hover over an image.
